Manchester to host international entrepreneurship conference

Manchester has been selected as the host city for the prestigious Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE) Conference this November (5-6), which will attract more than 400 delegates from 40 countries.

‘The Future of Entrepreneurship - The Innovation Revolution’ is the title of the international conference and exhibition, which will connect policymakers with business leaders, business support practitioners and international academics. There will be approximately 250 presentations made over the two day conference - featuring cutting edge research and best practice from across the globe.

“We’re very proud to host the 37th ISBE Conference in Manchester,” said Paula Turner, Deputy Director of Manchester Metropolitan University Centre for Enterprise and Chair of the Conference Organising Committee. “We’re currently finalising a stellar line up of keynote international speakers, including a number of North West-based entrepreneurs who are succeeding globally.”

She added: “Bringing this prestigious event to the city is a real collaborative effort between both Manchester Universities and The University of Salford, together with sponsors Barclays and Visit Manchester, and many other organisations, such as the Institute of Directors, New Economy, Manchester City Council and Business Growth Hub.”

The event will take place at the Manchester Conference Centre, with a drinks reception at Manchester Town Hall and gala dinner at the Imperial War Museum North.

Professor Lynn Martin, ISBE President and Director of the Centre for Enterprise at Manchester Metropolitan University, added: “More than 25% of the conference delegates will be from overseas, so this is a real opportunity for Manchester and the wider North West to showcase its credentials as a centre for business excellence and entrepreneurship. Timed ahead of the general election, it will provide fresh insights to inform the future business landscape and create genuine change.”
