Legal team fighting for extra payouts for Merseyside victims
A team of Liverpool lawyers is offering a pioneering new service aimed at ensuring victims of accidents - be they road-traffic, at work, or trips and falls - receive the full amount of compensation to which they are entitled.
Claim More Money, brainchild of Ian Kyle, Gary Colvin and Tim Ryan, from Irvings Solicitors, has been set up to help people who may still be suffering as the result of an accident.
Such people might be suffering physical or psychological damage, or believe their claim was rushed, or that they did not receive full and proper compensation.
In such cases, their claim will have been closed and they will have received a final pay out. Claim More Money is now offering these people the opportunity to have the case re-opened and re-assessed.
Mr Kyle said: “We are aware of a number of cases which have been closed but where the people involved are still suffering or believe their claim may have been mishandled. This clearly isn’t fair. This isn’t about criticising any individual or company, it is about showing we care and ensuring victims receive what they rightly deserve.
“Just to give one example; a lady who came to me was still suffering both psychologically and physically after a road accident. Her case had been closed and she had received a £2,500 pay-out. After further investigation and re-opening the case, this individual received a final pay-out of £18,000 in recognition of what she rightly deserved.
“Claim More Money is all about putting the client at the heart of everything which we do, ensuring they are looked after and receive a professional and personal service at all times. We will push as far as we can to ensure the client receives the best possible result.”
He added that many of the injuries associated with accidents and in particular whiplash claims can very often be “dismissed” as people simply trying to achieve pay-outs.
Mr Kyle said: “Unless you have actually been the victim of a road accident you cannot appreciate the trauma which people go through and can continue to go through for many months and even years thereafter.
“It is not just about recognising the physical injuries which people suffer – it is about recognising the psychological impact too and how this can affect victims in their every day lives.”
Mr Colvin added: “It is unfortunate that the professionalism of the industry has been taken away in many cases and it has become very process-driven. We will pride ourselves at Claim More Money in offering people a professional and personal service where they will always be seen by an experienced solicitor who cares.”
