Over 200 people signed up for Help To Buy with Barratt Yorkshire West

Following the extension of Help to Buy until 2020, Barratt Developments PLC in West Yorkshire reports that more than 200 of its customers have used the Government scheme since its launch in April 2013.

Two hundred of Barratt Development’s customers have now used the scheme across the region, including developments in Leeds, Wakefield, Halifax, Rotherham, Castleford, Barnsley, Sheffield and Bradford.

With the average price of these homes at a cost of £180,648, ranging from £69,995 up to £600k, this has produced a gross turnover in property value of more than £39 million.

The announcement comes as statistics from the Department for Communities and Local Government have been revealed to show that 14,823 properties in England were purchased through the scheme in its first 10 months, with the total value of the loans numbering £600m.

Sam Wood, sales director of Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, commented: “I am very pleased that more than 200 of our customers have used Help to Buy in West Yorkshire, as it shows how popular and in demand the scheme is.

“Any help that can be given to people making that all important first step on to or up the property market is vital, and I am glad we can be a part of that.”
