North East businesses urged to take advantage of apprenticeship schemes
Intraining North East, part of NCG and based at Newcastle College, is able to offer North East employers a free recruitment and matching service for Apprenticeship positions within the majority of business sectors.
Apprenticeships consist of a work based NVQ qualification, a technical certificate and key skills in communication, numeracy and IT.
Intraining currently delivers work based NVQs in over 60 different subjects from Business Administration and Management, right through to Construction and Engineering, and dependent upon the role the apprentice would attend Newcastle College on release to complete the technical certificate.
For those coming straight from school Apprenticeships are a great opportunity to work alongside experienced staff, whilst gaining the relevant qualifications.
Apprenticeships however aren’t just for school leavers, and Intraining also offers Level 2 and Level 3 Apprenticeships for existing staff members who are eligible. Apprenticeships offer a chance for employees to up-skill and gain a nationally recognised qualification at work.
Apprenticeships provide businesses a source of motivated, skilled and loyal staff who have completed a programme of structured training and work experience.
In a recent a study over 80% of employers who employ apprentices say they make their workplace more productive. 81% of consumers favour using a company which takes on apprentices over a company which doesn’t and 92% of employers who employ apprentices believe they lead to a more motivated and satisfied workforce.
Jon Lee, Employer Engagement Consultant at Intraining says, “Apprenticeships are an excellent way for businesses to reduce recruitment and training costs and also give individuals the opportunity to earn money each week while learning new skills.”
