Blacks Solicitors offers free IP advice to safeguard the region

Having expanded its Intellectual Property offering with the appointments of IP specialists Ailsa Pemberton and Phil Gorski, Leeds-based law firm, Blacks Solicitors is taking to Twitter to raise awareness of the importance of protecting your IP ahead of World Intellectual Property Day on Saturday 26th April.

In a bid to safeguard the region and beyond, Blacks is launching an interactive question and answer forum designed to give individuals and business owners the chance to gain free, expert advice on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious Intellectual Property.

Phil Gorski, IP Solicitor at Blacks Solicitors said, “As the region continues to recover from the recession, we’re seeing more and more new start ups emerge. With this often comes friction with more established brands keen to protect the goodwill and brand awareness they have built up and sometimes disputes which can end up being extremely costly. At the same time, businesses who don’t protect their company’s IP can find themselves unable to protect all their hard work.”

“Understanding all aspects of Intellectual Property, from licensing to copyright and everything in between has never been more important, not just for start ups, which is why we’re keen to raise awareness in the region and further afield to help support and safeguard entrepreneurs and SMEs.”

The session, which will be held on Blacks Solicitors’ official Twitter page (@LawBlacks) will take place between 10-12pm on Friday 25th April. Tweet your question with the hashtag #BlacksIP to take part in the conversation.
