Newly rebranded Wetherby recruitment firm aims high with growing client list

The newly rebranded, Wetherby-based recruitment consultancy Cooper Vance is aiming high to prevent hiring losses for their growing list of clients in Yorkshire and the North.

According to a recent survey by CareerBuilder, over half of UK companies have reported that hiring the wrong person has negatively affected their business leading to losses in revenue and productivity and challenges with employee morale and client relationships.

Some 27% of UK businesses that took part in the survey reported a single bad-hire had racked up losses of over £50,000.

Liam O’Flaherty, operations recruitment director says, ’We understand how hiring the wrong person can affect a business. Especially with smaller organisations, and those without their own HR departments.

“That’s why we work with our clients to see where their skills gaps are and give them the skills necessary to hire effectively without paying hefty recruiter fees every time.’

These recruitment master classes have already reaped rewards for a number of clients. The Recruitment Masterclass looks at how to improve current recruitment methods, create cost-effective recruitment plans, assess the skills-gaps, market available roles, conduct interviews, appraise interviewees and successfully offer the job to the successful candidate.

Andrew Pickersgill, finance recruitment director, had this to say about their approach to recruitment: ’Both Liam and myself have worked for the biggest multi-national recruiters.

“We’ve worked with FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 companies and over the years we’ve found lots of people lots of very well paid positions. But we wanted to do something different.

“We wanted to help businesses in Yorkshire thrive by finding the right people. So a big part of what we do now is about helping our clients understand how they need to recruit, who they need to recruit and, most importantly, making sure they don’t have to shell out a fortune on recruiter fees every time they need to find a new employee.”
