Expansion plans for North East wheel company
A North East company which specialises in top quality wheel renovations is to expand its operation – with the creation of up to 10 new jobs.
Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels Ltd, which operates from Crispin Court, Westerhope, on the outskirts of Newcastle, set up 18 months ago and has seen the business grow so rapidly that it now plans to open a second site on Teesside.
The company offers a range of of wheel repairs and renovations including using a specialised process to give a diamond cut finish to alloy wheels.
Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels is one of a only a handful of companies across the UK which can offer this service with the growth in interest from car owners and dealers leading to the plans to develop the business further afield and open on Teesside.
“At one time it was only the really top end cars that had this kind of finish on the wheels,” said Stephen Lee, the company owner.
“But in the last few years manufacturers have seen how much more stylish this wheel appearance makes the vehicle look.
“At the same time we’ve seen a huge increase in customers wanting this type of process used to repair a wheel, rather than pay for a new one.”
He added that “the custom shop in Newcastle has been extremely successful and now we’re going to open on Teesside to service that end of the market.”
The Teesside base is at 14-15 Newport Way, Cannon Park, Middlesborough and recruitment is now underway for the new base.
“We can offer any type of wheel refurbishment and the quality of the workmanship coupled with the fact that this is a 24 hour service 24 hour service has meant we have been able to grow rapidly,” said Steve.
“We’re sure Teesside will be just as successful as Newcastle.”
