Research aims to bridge the gap between education and business expectations
Rethink Talent Management has launched a competition designed to help bridge the gap between graduates and the employment market.
In light of continued suggestions that individuals are leaving education without the business acumen many organisations seek – as well as the growing struggles facing fresh graduates in the job hunting process – the talent management specialist is carrying out qualitative research in a bid to improve the candidate experience.
The organisation is calling on graduates to submit a short video outlining the impact of current market conditions on their ability to secure their first role and what their experiences have been. This feedback will then be shared with organisations to enable them to design and shape future graduate recruitment campaigns.
Stephen Gilbert, Practice Lead at Rethink Talent Management, comments:
“The job market is a tough place for graduates as competition for roles heats up and recruitment processes become increasingly stringent. However, as business commentators continue to imply that the future workforce is entering employment with little in the way of required business skills, securing an ideal role is much more difficult. If we’re to successfully bridge this gap between corporate expectations and education we must first get to grips with just what the candidate experience of the recruitment process is.”
