Global survey establishes direct link between strong EVP and business success

A recent report from talent management specialists, Cielo, has revealed that businesses must have a high-quality employee value proposition (EVP) to attract top talent in an increasingly competitive market.

The Talent Activation Index found that 81% of respondents from high performing businesses (‘leaders’) rate the quality of their organisation’s employee value proposition as “very effective” when it comes to attracting the top talent needed to achieve growth. In comparison, only 13% of underperforming companies (‘laggards’) noted the same sentiment.

The survey of over 750 global HR and talent management professionals also found those in high-performing organisations felt more confident in their company’s future. 71% of ‘leaders’ rated their workforce strategies as ‘excellent’ in terms of supporting their organisation’s objectives over the next three years. Similarly, 69% of high-performers – compared to only 7% of underperformers – believe their organisations are ‘very prepared’ to adapt to changing workforce demands and the new generation of workers that will emerge by 2020.

Contributing to this preparedness, the study found that high-performing organisations have succeeded at creating effective approaches to address eight key areas:

1.Embracing workforce work-life balance

2.Using data and analytics to create workforce strategies

3.Using sophisticated metrics to measure workforce quality

4.Quantifying the business impact of your workforce

5.Embracing cultural diversity

6.Applying workforce segmentation models

7.Effectively motivating workers of all generations

8.Utilising an effective value proposition to attract top talent

Within these areas of focus, high-performers significantly outshone their peers. In fact, high-performers were 16 times more likely than underperformers to rate their support for flexible work-life strategies as “excellent” (65% vs. 4%) and 12 times more likely to rate their use of data and analytics to inform their workforce strategies as “very effective” (72% vs. 6%).

The study was fielded as an online survey and through computer assisted telephone interviews (CATI).
