Calling West Yorkshire construction suppliers and subcontractors! Your area needs you!

YORKSHIRE-based housing and regeneration specialist Keepmoat is looking for local contractors and suppliers to help deliver a £25 million housing scheme on the site of the former Allerton Bywater coalmine.

Following Keepmoat’s appointment by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) as the preferred developer and planning approval being granted for the next phase of its Allerton Bywater Millennium Community Development - Keepmoat is organising a ‘Meet the Developer’ event on Friday 27 June.

Local companies are invited to tender for work on the development of 189 new homes, retail and 30,000 sqft commercial space, located at Park Lane in Allerton Bywater.

The scheme will potentially see millions of pounds of work up for grabs. As part of an on-going commitment to use local companies and labour, local contractors and suppliers are now invited to submit tenders for the development work.

The event will take place at The Annexe of the Church of St Mary’s in the Leas, Station Road, Allerton Bywater, WH10 2DH, between 1pm and 5pm. Everyone from joiners, electricians and cleaners are invited to attend.

Mark Knight, New Build Managing Director for Keepmoat, said: “The aim of this event is to offer local firms the opportunity to network and make new contacts but also find out about upcoming contracts and opportunities and how to access our local supply chain.

“Our work is not just about building new homes but creating and sustaining local communities.

“We achieve this by working with local contractors and people, ensuring the investment in these areas benefits those living there and the communities they serve.”

Tradespeople are welcome to register ahead of the event by contacting Colin Harrison by telephone on01709 766 000 or email colin.harrison@keepmoat.com.

Allerton Bywater has seen significant redevelopment since the closure of the coalmine in 1992. The Allerton Bywater Community Development was established in 2006 and since then, the HCA working in partnership with selected developers, has delivered a comprehensive regeneration scheme which will eventually see the development of 520 new homes and improved local facilities.
