Top tips for enhancing your business via social media
Build and enhance your business’s reputation through these 10 easy social media tips.
1. Top tips for enhancing your business via social media
- Use social media to boost knowledge of your business
- What’s the point of using social media, if you are not using it to increase brand awareness and drive traffic towards your website and product. It is a useful tool to upload videos and close up images to create better understanding.
2. Join twitter, facebook, vine, instagram etc
- Keep abreast of the latest social media platforms and create a presence.
- It’s better to use one or two platforms well, than use 5 or 6 and be spread too thin.
3. Increase your followers
- Increasing your followers in turn means increasing the amount of people that see your product/brand/company, which can only be a good thing.
4. Don’t ignore your fans, build relationships with them.
- Interact with your followers, it doesn’t take much effort to make people feel like you really care and appreciate their custom, and these are the people who through word and mouth will increase traffic to your site.
5. Schedule your social media
- Set a social media schedule and stick to it.
- This should include how many tweets/retweets you want to do each day, whether you want images to be included and how many times you want to interact with other people.
Creating a personal #, and creating an association with this and your brand can help you monitor how many people your brand comes into contact with.
6. Maximise your tweets/posts.
- Do a bit of research on the most popular times to upload tweets/post on your pages. This way you will maximise the amount of people who see your post and potentially gain more followers.
7. Join linkedin
- As much as twitter and facebook are useful to create awareness within potential customers, linkedin is used in a more professional capacity.
- This is where you can link yourself with any contacts you make in business.
8. Linkedin company pages vs linkedin profiles
- It is useful on linkedin to not only have your own personal profile, but to create a company page as well.
- This helps distinguish between your own achievements, and also your company’s achievements.
9. Don’t ignore facebook
- As twitter has slowly taken over the social media sphere, facebook has taken a backseat. This does not mean it isn’t useful, there are still a number of demographics who use it, and this means that you need to attract their attention through engaging content.
10. Post appropriate content
- As much as you want to engage your public, you don’t want to post/tweet anything inflammatory or that will divide too many opinions. You are looking for people to look at your brand and business, not your personal opinions.
