Winn’s ‘wheely’ good deal

Winn Solicitors has partnered up with Total Racing Events to sponsor three of this summer’s biggest regional sporting events.

The Ponteland Sprint Triathlon, Bamburgh’s Castles Challenge Triathlon and The Spanish City Triathlon in Whitley Bay will now all be sponsored by Winn Solicitors as part of its drive to support local events and showcase its new accident management service specifically for cyclists.

Winn Solicitors managing director Jeff Winn said: “Joining up with Total Racing Events is great news for us. They are a respected and professional company and, given the increased popularity of cycling and sheer number of cyclists in the region, we felt that sponsorship of these events was a perfect fit for our cycling service.”

Phil Gray, founder and managing director at Total Racing Events said: “We are delighted to be working with Winn Solicitors. Sponsorship and support from a company of their size and calibre is fantastic news for us and the North East triathlon community.

“There is no doubt that Triathlons and cycling are enjoying a huge growth in popularity, Winn themselves even have a team, so we are very hopeful that this is just the start of a strong business partnership.”

Winns now offer cyclists credit repair and medical services alongside a host of other benefits including a like-for-like replacement bike and ‘get me home’ service to help riders get back on their feet after a crash.

This latest announcement follows Winns confirmation that it is still completely in support of the Newcastle Triathlon and its new home in Ashington.

Several regional businesses are taking part in the Newcastle Triathlon’s Corporate Wave Challenge, which is sponsored by Winn Solicitors.

Alnorthumbria Veterinary Group, IHC Engineering Business, Quorum Business Park, HMS Calliope, Costain and also Winn Solicitors are competing and with training well underway all teams are now ready to go with the finish line and winner’s trophy firmly in their sights.

The Winn Corporate Wave Challenge will raise much needed funds for local charity The Sunshine Fund which supports families in the local area by providing specialised equipment to children with disabilities.

Jeff Winn added: “When the venue change for the Newcastle Triathlon was announced we all agreed that our continued support for the event and The Sunshine Foundation was the only way forward.

“It will be a great event and we’re all looking forward to it.”
