Approach PR is putting the kettle on for Cancer Support

Award winning Approach PR is hosting a 1940s vintage themed “Craft and a Cuppa” evening to raise money for Cancer Support Bradford and Airedale.

The Ilkley-based PR agency is partnering with four local businesses to create a fundraising evening of cuppas, cakes and crafts and will open its doors to local women on Wednesday 30 July.

With workshops from Make it Happy, which offers freelance art and crafts events and Moore than Cakes, a bespoke cake specialist, this creative 1940s inspired event will be styled by Rose Pink Vintage, suppliers of vintage event styling. There will also be the chance to win a raffle prize from award winning Nora’s Interiors and Gifts.

Cancer Support Bradford and Airedale offers support to local families affected by cancer. Its Big Brew campaign encourages people to get together and host coffee mornings, afternoon teas and workplace events to raise money. Approach hopes to raise over £250 for the charity through its unique event.

Owner of Make it Happy, Gillian Murgatroyd said: “I am absolutely delighted to be getting involved with this inspired, innovative event that not only gives us an opportunity to showcase the talent and skills of Ilkley business women but is supporting such a worthy cause.”

Doors will open at 5.30pm and guests will be invited to indulge in cuppas and cakes whilst sampling an array of delightful crafts. In keeping with Cancer Support Bradford and Airedale’s daisy emblem, guests will have the opportunity to create wet-felted daisies, which can be used as corsages or gifts, with Make it Happy and daisy-shaped icing cupcake decorating with Moore Than Cakes.

Managing Director of Approach PR and recent Bradford Means Business ‘Woman in Business’ winner Suzanne Johns said: “We are really excited to be hosting this unique event at our offices on The Grove and want to encourage our local community to get behind our fundraising drive and show their support for our local businesses. Together we can smash our £250 fundraising target and raise the sort of money that will help make a difference to local families who are coping with cancer.”

Entry to Approach PR’s Craft and a Cuppa event will be £5 with all proceeds going to Cancer Support Bradford and Airedale. For more information or to RSVP contact the team on 01943 603805.
