Taylor&Emmet Six Conquer Yorkshire Three Peaks
Six staff from Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP have hiked up the amount raised for its annual charity by £1,500, after scaling three of Yorkshire’s highest peaks in just one day.
The dedicated group braved torrential rain to complete the Alzheimer’s Society’s Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, taking the firm’s fundraising total to almost £3,000 already this year.
Taylor&Emmet’s team walked up and down Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in the Yorkshire Dales in just 12 hours, despite inclement conditions, climbing a total of 2,153 metres.
The event was organised by HR and marketing specialists, Sharna Poxon, Claire Fletcher and Jenni Arundale, who were joined by employment law experts, David Poddington and Annie Gray, plus Vikki Thornton from the family department.
Sharna Poxon, Taylor&Emmet’s HR manager, said: “This challenge would have been incredibly tough, both mentally and physically, without the terrible weather conditions, which exacerbated the situation. Despite the rain, aches and pains and the odd tumble, we all made it to the end in a respectable time and I am very proud of our achievements. I’d like to thank everyone who supported us – the money we raised surpassed our expectations and has given a huge boost to our annual total.”
Taylor&Emmet is holding a number of initiatives throughout the year to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society. The organisation provides practical services and essential contact for families coping with dementia. To find out more, visit www.alzheimers.org.uk.
