Utilita Energy Moves into Falkirk

Utilita Energy, the leading energy supplier specialising in smart meter technology has moved into Falkirk offering homeowners and tenants the chance to save money on their energy bills, as well as creating local employment opportunities.

Utilita provides energy and smart meters in over 30 locations across the country, with Falkirk marking the latest in its expansion. Utilita currently has a five-strong Falkirk field sales team, but is looking to grow this number to 25 staff by the end of the year, providing 20 jobs locally.

The Utilita team will offer advice to residents who want to change their energy supplier and save money with a smart meter.

Neil Wilson, Utilita National Field Sales Manager said: “We’re all really excited for Utilita’s move into Scotland. Falkirk is a great starting block and we’re hoping to be in Edinburgh and Glasgow by the end of the year”.

“We’ve already had a very positive response from customers, with lots of people looking forward to the installation of their smart meters.”

Utilita Managing Director, Bill Bullen, said: “Moving into Falkirk is the latest step in our expansion and we’re delighted to now be able to provide local people with the very best customer service and a realistic alternative to the big six energy firms”.

“In addition to helping residents save money on their energy bills, we’re also committed to providing employment opportunities for the town and will be looking to recruit a number of people before the end of this year.”

The company also hosts technology workshops and events across the UK, raising awareness about energy and the part technology can play in taking control in today’s energy market.

Utilita is the first energy supplier to focus solely on the needs of prepayment customers and has developed a range of user friendly ways to pay-as-you-go. Every customer gets a smart meter installed to help them monitor their energy usage and reduce their household bills. Utilita’s smart meters also allow customers to benefit from Emergency and Friendly Credit, ensuring they do not lose power during evenings, weekends or bank holidays, allowing time to top-up.

Utilita plans to continue its expansion into Glasgow and Edinburgh later this year.
