Bradford social enterprise Aspire-i acquires training firm Igen
Bradford-based social enterprise Aspire-i has acquired Igen Ltd to create the region’s largest provider of employability, training and guidance services.
The Aspire-igen group will build on the strengths and reputations of both organisations to develop a strong, resilient and responsive service across the north of England.
Caroline Harrison, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a winner at the 2013 Yorkshire Finance Director of the Year Awards , and formerly CEO of Aspire-i, has been appointed group chief executive.
Caroline said: “Igen will provide further depth to the range of solutions we already offer to our clients.
“These additional capabilities combined with an enhanced reach will enable us to provide an unparalleled level of service across the whole of Yorkshire and beyond, and ensure young people and adults receive the very best independent career and training help and advice. ’
Caroline Harrison is also currently chair of Careers Yorkshire & the Humber, the prime contractor for the National Careers Service across the region.
Aspire-igen expect to have a combined turnover in the region of £20 million and employ around 300 staff, in 10 towns and cities across the Yorkshire & Humber, and Northumberland.
