Family Law Solicitor appointed Trustee of Salford Red Devils Foundation

Cheshire law firm Aaron & Partners LLP is delighted to announce that Chris Longbottom, Associate in the Family Law team, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees for the Salford Red Devils Foundation.

Chris is a former professional rugby league player and joins the Foundation with a range of legal knowledge and business networking contacts that will help to develop partnerships between the Foundation and local stakeholders.

The Board also welcomes Joanna Harding, a Councillor for Urmston in Trafford, and Asif Latief, Marketing & Strategic Accounts Director at Ashtead Plant Hire. They join founder Trustee Paul Snape, Professor James Powell, Janice Lowndes and Mark Pearson to form a diverse, experienced and talented Board.

Richard Barge, Head of the Family Law team at Aaron & Partners, said: “This is an excellent appointment for Chris. With his sporting knowledge combined with his legal expertise, he is perfect for this role. I know he will work hard with the other trustees to ensure the continuing progress already made by the Foundation.”

With excitement growing around Salford’s rugby playing exploits, the Foundation continues to ensure the Red Devils have a big, positive impact on the local community. Over the last year the Foundation has grown in size significantly as new and existing partnerships are developed with partners such as Salford Council, Sky TV and Sport England. The completion of purpose built classrooms at the AJ Bell Stadium and opening of a new base at Oasis Media City UK Academy are perfect examples of this success.

On the appointments, founder Trustee Paul Snape said, “The future looks bright and we are delighted to welcome Chris, Joanne and Asif. Mark Brocklehurst and John Blackburn deserve huge credit for expanding the scale and work of the Foundation which now has ten full time staff and high quality facilities.”

The Foundation also welcomes on board Salford Royal’s Director of Innovation Dr Maxine Power and Red Devil’s Captain Adrian Morley as the first of a team of Ambassadors. The Ambassadors will play an informal but important role in helping develop the profile of the Foundation and in identifying future opportunities.
