Terry Christian to celebrate Sunderland style
A top TV and radio presenter will be taking to the stage to reward the North East’s fashionistas and trend setters at this year’s Sun FM Style awards.
Television front man, Terry Christian, will be the compere at this year’s awards ceremony, which is taking place on September 26 at Sunderland’s Best Western Roker Hotel.
And there’s still time to nominate favourite people, businesses and places to give them the opportunity of taking the honours on the night.
Categories on offer include the Icon Award, The Most Stylish Home and the Up and Coming Business Awards among others.
“The Style awards are a great way of recognising everything that one city has going on. I love working on radio, so this is a great experience for me, I’m really looking forward to it,” said Terry.
The presenter made his name on Channel 4’s The Word, renowned for his no-nonsense style even when confronted with challenging interviewees.
Among his most memorable moments over the years were having to ask questions of a drunken Oliver Reed and dealing with the Godfather of Soul, James Brown, who was smuggled out of prison for the interview.
The awards ceremony, which will be hosted by Sun FM’s own Simon Grundy and Danielle Moore, will include a DJ set from Stacie Stewart and a fashion show to launch the evening, along with various other musical performances.
Julian Carter, Managing Director of Sun FM said: “These awards are a great opportunity for Sunderland to show the rest of the region what we have to offer.
“They give us the chance to reward individuals, businesses, experiences and places in Sunderland that wouldn’t normally be recognised.
“The Style awards are always very popular and this year is no exception, with new categories and the backing of so many businesses the night is bound to be one to remember.”
The event is sponsored by See It, Do It, Sunderland with individual categories being sponsored by Little Learners Day Care Nursery, Benfield, Olivers Dental Studio and Asiana Fusion Restaurant among others.
Tickets for the event are priced at £39 per person and will be available soon from the SUN FM reception, Unit 63-66T, Business & Innovation Centre, Sunderland Enterprise Park, Sunderland or by calling 0191 548 1034.
