SAFC Networking Event Takes Vistors Around the World

A UNIQUE networking event held at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light has proved a huge success – by offering attendees a whirlwind tour of international cuisine.

SAFC and its partner Bidvest 3663 organised an Evening with the Black Cats at the stadium, with an opportunity for guests to sample food from across the world.

Around 350 business people from across the North East attended the event, including Sunderland head coach Guy Poyet and a number of first team players, who took part in a Ready, Steady, Cook style cookery challenge.

Stalls were set up in the club’s Montgomery suite with food offerings including Asian, Chinese, Indian, Italian and a range of seafood along with English favourites such as pies, sandwiches and hot dogs.

Guests were also offered a range of bowl dishes prepared by the catering team at SAFC with a stand offering deli-style food with others offering cakes and desserts.

North East five star hotel Seaham Hall gave guests mini massages and attendees were also offered the opportunity to take part in a quiz with a range of top prizes including two VIP tickets for The Open golf next year.

“This was an entirely new way to showcase what we have to offer at the Stadium of Light and to give people the opportunity to network,” said Gary Hutchinson, Commercial Director at SAFC.

“Attracting more than 300 people to a networking event at any time is a challenge but do to do that in August when so many people are on holiday was amazing.

“The feedback has been astonishing and we’re also very grateful to our partner, Bidvest 3663, for their amazing support.

“This will certainly be something we’d be looking at repeating in the future as it’s networking in a way that people have never experience before.”

Guests were also given the opportunity for a tour of the stadium and to mix with iconic players from the past, including members of Sunderland’s 1973 FA Cup

“The event demonstrated the very best in what can be achieved working in partnership with our key suppliers,” said Susan Justice, Regional Account Controller for Bidvest 3663.

“SAFC had a very clear vision of the special event they wanted to deliver for their clients and from the fantastic feedback we know expectations were exceeded.

“Bidvest 3663 is extremely proud to have been part of this amazing networking evening’s winning side.”
