New Social Enterprise I.M.P.A.C.T Northeast has been selected as one of Lloyd’s business in the Community.

I.M.P.A.C.T Northeast CIC is a social enterprise based in the Hendon area of Sunderland, I my proud to announce that we have been selected as 1 of 4 community businesses in our area by Lloyds Community business teams, we will go head to head in a public vote early next month.

I set the community interest company up in September 2013 with the support and advice from SES in Hendon, UnLtd, the University of Sunderland’s Enterprise place and Malcolm Hewitt. The company offers a wide range of services to; communities and families, educational setting and commercial and public sector. Currently we support 3 schools, 2 community organisations, 3 companies and since April 2014 we have 56 community based clients spread across our training, counselling and support groups.

When we found out that one of our clients had nominated us for the Lloyds Business in the community we were so humbled that in such a short space of time we had made such an impact in somes life.

Our client said “I had suffered from ill health and been socially excluded for many years, I would not go the school to collect my child, or attend family parties. I now get involved in a wide range of activties, I am gaining qualifications and doing things I never thought was possible I can not thank them enough for supporting me to change my life”.

Reccently Vince Robson, Business Development Manager at the University, had said the following when I.M.P.A.C.T Northeast moved into their premisies: “Sharon has shown that with hard work and determination you can thrive and grow a business in even the most difficult of economic times.

“We are very proud to have supported her and although sad to see her move out of The Enterprise Place, we are thrilled that she has found a dedicated space that will enable her to deliver counseling sessions to her ever growing client base. Sharon will continue to receive business advice and support through our network of advisers.”
