This week’s North East appointments
Property firm Sanderson Weatherall has continued to grow its Newcastle office following the appointment of its sixth new chartered surveyor since the start of the year.
The firm has also promoted a number of key individuals who have chosen to progress their careers at Sanderson Weatherall.
Darren Naylor, an experienced chartered surveyor, is the most recent recruit to the practice and joins the valuation team as Senior Surveyor, to undertake valuation work for banks, corporate and private clients across the region.
David Downing, partner in Sanderson Weatherall’s Valuation team said: “We are very pleased that Darren and the other new starters have chosen to join us at Sanderson Weatherall. Our recruitment of so many talented new colleagues is great news after the last few years of turmoil in the commercial property market.
“This recruitment drive is indicative of both our commitment to growing the practice in the region and the increased level of activity in the commercial property market since the turn of the year.”

TT Law, Kevin Turnbull
Newcastle-based TT Law has appointed Kevin Turnbull to its team.
Kevin Turnbull spent seven years at Eversheds before joining Muckle as an associate, and becoming a partner in its dispute resolution group in 2009. He acted on the Bloody Sunday and Harold Shipman inquiries.
Kevin Turnbull said: “I enjoyed my years at Muckle and I am very proud of my contribution to its litigation team but I felt it was the right time for me to take on a new challenge.
“The attraction for me is that TT Law fills the gap for a specialist litigation law firm that combines top-tier law firm capability with flexibility, clarity on fees and an ability to offer more competitive rates than its larger rivals.
“I am very pleased to be working alongside Neville again. I am joining at a time when there is considerable demand for our services both in the North East and further afield, and I am excited about the future for TT Law.”
Founder Takiar said: “I have known and worked with Kevin for many years. He is a highly respected name in the litigation field and I am delighted to welcome someone of his standing and reputation on board.”
“Kevin’s experience and expertise will help us achieve our aim of growing our regional and national client base and being recognised as the North East’s leading specialist dispute resolution law firm.”
