Graduates find jobs as SaleCycle continues global expansion

One of the North East’s fastest growing tech companies has boosted its head office workforce with a number of new appointments as it continues to expand to meet market demand for its innovative retail software.

Sunderland-based remarketing specialists SaleCycle has created a number of new junior and senior roles as part of a wider expansion plan which will see the recruitment of an additional 40 jobs this year, taking the four-year-old business’s headcount to 120.

The company recently strengthened its in house technical team with the appointment of two junior developers and a junior designer who have joined after graduating from the region’s universities.

Since setting up in 2010, the company has taken on 12 new graduates via various university graduate employment schemes, several of whom have since progressed into more senior roles.

SaleCycle CEO Dominic Edmunds himself joined the company’s parent group Leighton after graduating from Teesside University and credits the company’s success to the passion of its North East workforce.

Dominic said: “We’re proud of our North East roots and make an effort to recruit people from the local talent pool.

“We work closely with the region’s colleges and universities to ensure graduates are aware of the long-term employment opportunities at the company and invest a great deal in the personal progression of our staff.

“More than half of our employees who joined us as graduates have progressed into different roles within the organisation and we will continue to recruit from our local universities as we focus on growing our global footprint.”

Marketing Executive Philip Docherty joined SaleCycle having graduated from Sunderland University in 2013.

Phil said: “Working at SaleCycle, I can confidently say the skills I studied at university are utilised every working day. The experience and knowledge I have gained here in just under a year are priceless and furthermore the work I produce is highly valued and my contribution recognised.

“Each day is different, and the strong emphasis on personal development plays a major role in the company’s success, every single person who works here is invested in driving forward the growth of the company.

“The fact SaleCycle’s HQ is based here in my native north-east makes my role here that little bit more special, I feel incredibly lucky to be part of a globally successful company that has grown on my doorstep. “

Established in 2010, SaleCycle is a global leader in online remarketing, helping some of the world’s biggest retail brands recover lost sales by contacting customers who have not completed online purchases through email and on-site messages.

The company have recently added House of Fraser, Ikea and Thomas Cook to their impressive list of household name clients.

The company currently employs over 80 people globally across offices in the UK, Australia, France, Singapore and North America, 50 of which are based at the firm’s Rainton Bridge head office and expects to employ 170 people by the end of the financial year. The firm also expect to add China, Japan and Germany to their list of international offices next year.

In May the company was named in the 2014 Pathfinder 20 Index of top emerging UK technology companies, selected by a panel of leading technology executives.
