Duo of director promotions at Moore and Smalley

Two Preston-based accountants have landed senior promotions at North West accountancy and business advisory firm Moore and Smalley.

Corporate senior managers Joe Sullivan and Paul Williams have been made directors after almost 10 years supporting and advising Lancashire businesses.

The pair, both 30, have progressed their careers side by side after joining the firm together as corporate assistants in September 2005.

In their new role they will help deliver key areas of Moore and Smalley’s business plan, provide strategic input to the partnership, and take greater responsibility for the training and development of the firm’s employees.

Paul, who lives in Fulwood, said: “My nine years at Moore and Smalley have exposed me to a range of different clients and enabled me to build strong relationships with local businesses. The new role will let me continue advising clients while also getting more involved in the commercial side of the business.”

Joe, from Penwortham, added: “I am delighted to be promoted to director and look forward to helping the firm maintain its reputation for high-quality work and for supporting, developing and promoting its own people.”

Graham Gordon, managing partner at Moore and Smalley, said: “Moore and Smalley has always been committed to developing its people and views training as a necessity to allow both the firm and its staff to progress. It’s great to see Paul and Joe take the next step in their careers with these well-deserved promotions.”

Joe and Paul were both awarded the Associate Chartered Accountants (ACA) qualification in 2008.

The pair are also members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
