Lumley Castle appoints new Director of Sales
ONE of the North East’s leading luxury hotels has appointed a new director of sales.
Nola Collinson, from North Shields, has returned to the region to join the team at 600-old Lumley Castle, Chester-le-Street, County Durham.
The 37-year-old former corporate sales manager at Close House, Northumberland, joins Lumley Castle Hotel from the Bromley Court Hotel in Kent and will be tasked with introducing the historic, four star venue, to a wider corporate and leisure audience.
As well as consolidating 73-bedroom Lumley Castle Hotel’s reputation as one of the region’s favourite wedding and event venues, Nola will aim to raise its profile within the business community both regionally and nationally.
“Lumley Castle Hotel is not only magnificent: it’s unique,” said Nola, who brings 12 years’ experience in the hotel sales industry to her new role.
“From its spectacular state rooms to its opulent bedrooms with their draped four poster beds and, of course, the renowned Black Knight restaurant, it is no wonder it holds such a special place in the hearts and memories of families across the North East.
“However, it is also proving increasingly popular for everything from meetings and conferences to private lunches and large scale events and I shall hope to build on that.”
Lumley Castle Hotel is part of the No Ordinary Hotel group.
Christine Gott, General Manager at Lumley Castle Hotel, said: “Nola is a well-known and respected figure within the hotel sales industry and we are delighted to welcome her to what is undoubtedly one of our most prestigious and popular properties.”
