Finlay James say "You’re Hired"

On the 15th August 2014, leading technology recruitment company Finlay James, offered positions to a number of highly motivated and driven individuals who had proven themselves as deserving of a career in recruitment with the company.

In the weeks before the day, Finlay James had enlisted the help of Sales Recruitment and Training specialists Raw Talent Academy as they looked to expand their trainee recruitment consultancy and resourcing team. The day was a culmination of a rigorous process with both the new employees and Finlay James leaving happy.

Finlay James was established in 2003 as a technology sales executive search firm by John Gaughan and Mark Neilan. They have worked in IT Recruitment for over 20 years and in that period of time they have developed Finlay James into a true executive search company

Raw Talent Academy’s unique process started with them carrying out a comprehensive profile of Finlay James to fully understand the type of candidates that not only succeed, but thrive at the company. Following the profiling, Raw Talent Academy sourced the top candidates from the surrounding areas of St Albans and Birmingham to attend the audition day which was held at Watford Football Club’s Vicarage Road Stadium.

In the run-up to the audition day, Raw Talent Academy attracted over 700 candidate applications through numerous methods including mystery shopping and job fairs. These candidates went through Raw Talent Academy’s process so that only the best candidates that matched Finlay James’s profile were left.

The audition day saw the invited candidates undertake a series of real life business tasks while being assessed by both Finlay James’s senior management team as well as Raw Talent Academy assessors. As the day drew to a close a number of the talented individuals were offered a position there and then! The audition day process, created by Raw Talent Academy Founder & BBC Apprentice Winner Lee McQueen, has been designed to showcase the candidates abilities so that clients can judge them based on what they can do and not what is on their CV.
