North East entrepreneur acquires Newcastle’s Catering Solutions

North East entrepreneur Blake Robinson has acquired Catering Solutions (North East) Ltd, a Newcastle-based company that designs and installs commercial kitchens, in a move facilitated by the Commercial and Corporate department of Durham-based Gordon Brown Law Firm.

Catering Solutions, which also supplies equipment and machinery to the catering industry, was established over a decade ago.

Mr Robinson, who also owns North East firm Exordia Training Ltd, has plans to expand the business into new areas and, over the next 18 months, establish a catering academy to train young people and provide apprenticeships and job opportunities within the hospitality industry, of which Exordia Training Ltd has experience.

Mr Robinson said: “The previous owner is a family friend who wanted to sell his business to someone who would continue to maintain the relationships built up with customers and bring in new ideas, allowing him to retire in a few years.

“I saw this as a great opportunity to acquire a successful local firm – Catering Solutions (North East) Ltd has a fantastic reputation with strong repeat business and good referrals from blue chip organisations down to the individually owned takeaways and cafes.

“My focus now is on growing the company, and providing jobs and opportunities for young people and the long term unemployed in the local area.”
