Manchester accountancy firm Hurst wins raft of new clients
Accountancy firm Hurst has secured a raft of new clients as it benefits from its continued focus on advising owner-managed and family businesses across the north west.
Hurst has been appointed to provide audit, tax and strategic business advice, to companies including Manchester-based David Luke and manufacturing firm Packaging Automation, which has its headquarters in Knutsford, Cheshire.
Family-owned David Luke is a supplier of school wear, including the Eco-uniform range which features jackets whose outer fabric is made from recycled plastic bottles.
Packaging Automation, also a family-owned business, designs and manufactures packaging and sealing machinery which it supplies to clients in the UK and overseas, including a number of blue-chip food manufacturers.
David Luke and Packaging Automation are among 24 new clients won by HURST across the north west in the past six months.
The list includes The Odd Group and the BikeRight! cycle training business.
The Odd Group, which is led by founder Cleo Farman, operates Odd Bar and The Blue Pig Bar in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, and Oddest Bar in Chorlton.
BikeRight! was established in 2000 and has its headquarters in Openshaw, east Manchester. It is led by managing director and founder Liz Clarke.
It trains around 20,000 people each year in schools and businesses to cycle safely and confidently. The business has grown to become the largest cycle training organisation in the UK, with offices in Liverpool, Birmingham and Newcastle upon Tyne in addition to Manchester.
Tim Potter, chief executive of Hurst, said: “We are delighted to add these successful and innovative businesses to our extensive client base and we look forward to providing them with a range of services while also advising on their future growth strategies.
“Family businesses and ambitious owner-managers are key parts of the economic fabric of the north west, and we are proud to act as advisers to so many of them.”
