International Irish Dancing Spectacular Showcases at The Sage Gateshead

An exhilarating new dance show from former ‘Lord of The Dance’ and ‘Riverdance’ stars entitled ‘Murphy’s Legacy’ is set to launch its world premiere at The Sage Gateshead on 31 January 2015.

North East born Chris Hannon, a former lead dancer in ‘Lord Of The Dance’, has joined forces with worldwide dance sensation US based Zach Klingenberg, a fellow former ‘Lord of the Dance’ female lead Katrina Hesketh, and world dance champion Kaila-Lee McManus to bring you a show sure to become the next Irish Dance global phenomenon.

‘Murphy’s Legacy’ is a dark yet inspiring tale of courage and loss set against an original soundtrack fused with a unique blend of choreography from both the States & the UK.

Chris Hannon, said: “It has always been my ambition to create a show that would be popular for both young and old. The traditional model needs updating without going too far from its core values; this is where I believe Murphy’s Legacy comes in.”

John Elliott, Loft Music Composer & Show Musical Director, adds: “There is a specific kind of magic living inside Irish Music; both light and dark. I’m trying to harness that and then shake it up a little.”

For the past 20 years shows like ‘Riverdance’ and ‘Lord of the Dance’ established the genre in the mainstream. However, now the team believe there is a gap in the market, Chris explained:

“There is a hunger from the general public for innovative dance shows. Murphy’s Legacy will hopefully be a breath of fresh air in dance venues around the world from January 2015 onwards; this is truly ‘Irish Dance Reborn’.”

Tickets are available from The Sage Gateshead Booking Office on Ticket Office: 0191 443 4661 or online at https://tickets.sagegateshead.compriced at £30, £25 (Concessions Available).
