Manchester-based JMW doubles in size
Manchester-based law firm JMW has reported a successful year so far, with 2013 remaining the best ever year for the company with £17.2 million billed.
The firm is only half way through its financial year but it is hoping to bill £18 million this year.
It has grown from 150 staff four years ago to 270 staff now.
A lot of its client base is from new custom, with 60% of clients new to the firm.
JMW has spread its risk by covering multiple disciplines.
39% of its business is from personal injury and clinical negligence, the rest of the business is spread evenly across the sector.
Senior partner Joy Kingsley said, “The amount of growth we have had has got us where we want to be.
“We can compete with all sizes of law firms for most areas of work.
“Part of it is luck and part of it is good management.
“It’s important to get the right outwardly focussed people.”
