Further City Link redundancies: Carlisle depot one of 9 to close
Administrators of City Link Limited announce further redundancies and depot closures
Carlisle is one of nine depots to close today with 3 further redundancies following an initial 25 job losses.
The Joint Administrators of City Link Limited have announced a further 230 redundancies at the company, which will take effect between 7 January 2015 and 15 January 2015 as depot operations close across City Link Limited’s UK sites over the coming eight days.
141 people in total will be retained at City Link Limited’s Coventry head office and transport hub, as well as across a number of other sites, to continue to assist the Joint Administrators in realising the Company’s assets and winding down its operations, as well as returning parcels to customers.
Joint administrator of City Link Limited, Hunter Kelly said: “It is with regret that we announce further redundancies at City Link Limited, which will take effect over the coming days as the Company’s remaining UK depot operations close.
“Having returned a large volume of parcels to City Link Limited’s customers and recipients over recent days, it is no longer viable to continue operating these depots and a phased plan to close them has begun.”
