Witney BIC’s final refurbishment begins ahead of schedule

The demand for serviced office space in West Oxfordshire remains high enabling landlord of Witney Business & Innovation Centre, Blenheim Palace, to start work on the final phase of the centre’s refurbishment, which will see the creation of seven new office suites on the ground floor of Windrush House.

Work began on Phase 5 of the Oxford Innovation managed centre at the end of last month and is expected to finish in February 2015 with offices ranging from 101 sq. ft. – 342 sq. ft. This brings the total number of offices to 54 (23,487 sq. ft. ) currently occupied by 36 businesses.

Jim Yates, commercial property portfolio manager, Blenheim Palace, said: “Blenheim Palace are delighted to confirm that Oxford Innovation’s recent outstanding success with the Witney Business & Innovation Centre has encouraged us to initiate the fifth and final phase of the building’s internal refurbishment at least 12 months ahead of schedule.”

Witney BIC is home to a variety of businesses including Smooga, HIT Training, Data Centre Response Ltd and an on-site women only gym started-up by centre customer, Body Evo.

Oxford Innovation’s centre team is also helping to shape the next generation of entrepreneurs having formed a successful partnership with Abingdon & Witney College in addition to sponsoring the ‘Best New Business’ category of the West Oxfordshire Business Awards.

Stephanie Henwood, centre manager, Witney Business & Innovation Centre, said: “The popularity of the centre continues as new and growing businesses look for a cost-effective and flexible solution for office space. The centre brings together business owners from a variety of sectors, which often provides opportunities for collaboration. We look forward to welcoming seven new business owners to our community when our new office suites open in February and have already received a great deal of interest.”

The flexible licence agreement for serviced office space offered by Oxford Innovation is far more cost-effective than a traditional office lease, encouraging business growth in addition to providing access to a host of facilities and services that many businesses could not individually afford on a full time basis.

In addition, Witney BIC has a choice of virtual and shared office packages with access to meeting and conference rooms and is part of a network of centres managed by Oxford Innovation, the UK’s leading operator of innovation centres.
