Gold Standard for Brother UK
Manchester-based information, communication and technology company Brother UK has been recognised for excellence in people management and a commitment to ‘being the very best it can be’ after achieving the Investors in People Gold standard.
The award – the company’s second major employer brand accolade in the past year – recognises world-class best practice and the highest standards of people management and development.
Brother UK also received a special award for health and wellbeing as part of its accreditation. The process involved interviews with a wide cross-section of people from across the organisation on topics including learning and development, reward and recognition, leadership and management, and involvement and empowerment.
The recognition by Investors in People follows Brother UK’s appearance in the 2014 Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For list.
Phil Jones, managing director of Brother UK, said: “This is a really proud moment for us. Only seven per cent of Investors in People-accredited organisations achieve Gold status. We have done so on our first application and so we can say we’re genuinely leading from the front when it comes to making a commitment to our people.
“Recruiting and retaining great people is a challenge for all organisations and this independent award makes it clear what type of philosophy we adopt in the business. We want to build a platform that enables everyone to do their best work and be the best possible version of themselves while with us.
“This award, combined with our recognition from The Sunday Times’ 100 Best Companies to Work, is clear, independent proof that we are a business which has made the transition to a relevant, engaged workplace with our people front and centre in a critical period of transition and transformation.”
Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate Brother UK on their Gold standard. Such a high level of accreditation is the sign of great people management practice, demonstrates a commitment to staff development and shows an organisation committed to being the very best it can be. Brother UK should be extremely proud of their achievement.”
Investors in People is the UK’s leading accreditation for business improvement through people management, providing a wealth of resources for businesses to innovate, improve and grow.
