Event: Help your clients with their cash deposits

Accountants and Law Firms across the North East will be able to find out how clients can get the most from their cash deposits, at an event in Newcastle next month. The seminar is free to attend and is being organised by Easby Gale & Phillipson (EG&P), a leading North East firm of independent financial advisers.

It will be held at Jesmond Dene Hotel on Thursday 12 February @11.30am.

Recent research from the FCA showed consumers are putting off switching accounts, thinking there will be more administrative hassle and very little gain from switching. A reported £160bn of easy access savings earned an interest rate equal to, or lower than, the Bank of England base rate of 0.5% during 2013[1].

Many easy access accounts have not been switched in the last three years, and the four largest personal current account providers are paying, on average, materially lower interest rates on easy access accounts than other providers.

Easby Gale & Phillipson are hosting the seminar in order to provide jargon free, practical advice to local law firms and accountants.

Simon Davis, Financial Planning Consultant at EG&P, comments:

“After the economic turbulence of recent years, the need for clients to hold some cash has never been clearer. With extremely high amounts of cash being reported as making minimal returns, there is a real need for good cash management, to ensure clients aren’t stuck in accounts earning very little, if anything”.

“We have planned this seminar on 12 February following feedback from a number of Accountants who are advising business owners, and Solicitors acting as Power of attorney, and trustees of charities. Professional firms are telling us they would like to know how their clients can make the most of their cash deposits.”
