Taylor&Emmet Gives Fundraisers Paws for Thought
Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP is adding a little animal magic to its annual charity initiative.
The solicitors are pledging their support to South Yorkshire dog and cat shelter, Rain Rescue, throughout 2015 – the first year an animal charity has been selected by the firm.
Taylor&Emmet will be organising a series of events during the next 12 months, ranging from sporting challenges to dress down days, to raise funds for the organisation. Rain Rescue was nominated by HR and training assistant, Victoria Jackson, a keen champion of the cause and was chosen after winning an employee vote.
Last year the firm collected £3,500 for the local branch of the Alzheimer’s Society, following a busy year of fundraising that included a charity pamper evening and a Grand Depart themed cycle race.
Claire Fletcher, Taylor&Emmet’s marketing coordinator, said: “We have a ground swell of barking mad animal lovers at our offices in Sheffield and Derbyshire that are ready to get their claws into this year’s annual charity. Rain Rescue relies entirely on the support of the local community and our efforts will make a big difference to its work around the region. An exciting programme of fundraising activities is planned and we hope our clients, friends and colleagues will be inspired to join in the fun.”
Rain Rescue works across Yorkshire, saving the lives of around 300 animals each year. It is one of the few shelters to take dogs from council pounds and cats from the streets, whilst promoting responsible pet ownership through education and public awareness. The organisation receives no government or Lottery grants and is funded solely by donations and its two shops in Sheffield and Rotherham.
