citybike loves Liverpool: 5 romantic places to visit

Love is in the air so for Valentine’s Day this weekend, why not take your loved one to one of Liverpool’s more breathtaking and romantic locations? Perhaps you could even plan a tour.

citybike has put together five of the most romantic places in Liverpool you and your loved one could hire a bike and enjoy together this weekend. And if your other half is not a citybike member, you can either hire them a bike as a treat or get them their own membership as a gift.

So where does citybike recommend you ride this weekend?

Sefton Park Palmhouse

Sefton Park Palmhouse is home to Liverpool’s botanical collection. Instead of buying your other half a bunch of flowers, why not present them with an entire house full! There is a huge variety of flora and fauna to appreciate and it is entirely free.

Bold Street

Valentine’s traditionalists will want to take their loved ones for a romantic meal. But if you are looking for something a little different grab a couple of citybikes and head up Bold Street where there are lots of independent restaurants offering a particularly intimate setting to celebrate the festival of love.

Otterspool Promenade

If you are looking for a quiet spot to spend some quality time together, why not cycle on up to Otterspool and watch the sun go down. The clear, unbroken views over the River Mersey from this green oasis are sure to melt the heart of even the most cynical Valentine.

Anglican Cathedral

One of Liverpool’s two magnificent Cathedrals, the Anglican is a wonderful place to visit, whether for religious purposes or simply to enjoy the splendour of this dominant building.

A trip to the top of the tower offers spectacular views over the city and beyond, to the Welsh hills, and there is a citybike station right next to it for convenience.

Panoramic 34

If you want to push the boat ourt this Valentine’s Day, Panoramic 34 at West Tower on Brook Street is ideal. With sweeping views over the Mersey and Wirral coupled with fine dining, a visit here will sweep your partner off their feet. And thanks to citybike’s no-chain system, there’s no risk of getting oil on your outfit.
