mcm creative group bolsters senior team

mcm creative group has strengthened its senior team with two new appointments. The Hammersmith-based agency has hired Karen Evans as Client Director, while Brendan McCaul joins as Creative Services Director.

The appointments follow a successful start to the year for mcm creative group. The agency has seen a surge in interest from clients and prospects following its successful delivery of the high-profile John Lewis 150th anniversary event in 2014.

As part of its wider investment plans, mcm is also relocating from its current Hammersmith headquarters this summer, and will be based at new premises in Richmond Upon Thames.

Evans joins with a wealth of experience gained at Because brand experience, The Marketing Store, The Circle Agency and The Engine Group, where she held management positions. Her role will be split between client strategy and the agency’s business development. With a career spanning more than 20 years, she joins with a wide background of agency experience in marketing, experiential campaigns and communications, having worked with a large number of global brands.

Previous campaigns have included work for British Gas, Britvic, Superdrug, Unilever, Diageo and Green & Black’s. She also launched Closer, the experiential division at creative agency HeyHuman (previously Billington Cartmell).

In his new role, McCaul - previously Director, Global Productions at Be The Image - will be responsible for devising creative strategies for mcm creative group’s range of clients, which includes HSBC, John Lewis & Pearson International. With more than 20 years’ experience in film, he has won two BAFTAs for Producing & Directing, and has created IVCA award-winning campaigns for brands including Procter & Gamble (P&G), PwC, Lamborghini, Lego and FedEx and multiple UN-backed NGOs.

He also spent more than ten years producing and directing a range of series at the BBC, and has held roles at other global broadcasters including CNN and Sky, as well as devising campaign strategy for the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP).

Meanwhile, mcm is set to announce its financial results for the past 12 months, which are expected to show an increase in sales by 17 per cent, and net profit in excess of 45 per cent over the previous year.
