Red WigWam Voted the Most Disruptive

Liverpool based, recruitment company – Red Wigwam has been recognised on the ‘Everline Future 50 2015 list’ as one of the countries most disruptive businesses.

The ‘Everline Futures 50’ are awarded to UK businesses who are recognised as breaking down barriers, creating innovative products and disrupting previously stagnant industries. Based in the Baltic Triangle described by Tech City UK as a ‘leading light’ in Liverpool which is the second fastest growing digital hub in the UK outside of London – Red WigWam was founded in April 2014 and in less than 12 months has made a huge impact on the recruitment market.

Red WigWam was launched to tap into the huge growth in the temporary recruitment market, recognising the 2.5m people in the UK who want to work in temporary jobs in order to suit their lifestyle.

The traditional model for searching for temporary positions was failing, with the time taken to secure temporary workers taking far too long. Red WigWam spotted this gap and revolutionised the traditional system by making it easier for people to connect to businesses who are sourcing short-term workers via an online resource.

Scott Logie, CEO of Red WigWam explains: “The UK temporary recruitment industry is worth over £30bn, with around 2.5m people choosing to work in temporary jobs. This represents over five per cent of the UK’s total labour force, which is predicted to increase by over ten per cent year on year for the next five years.

“At the same time – for those who want to work in part-time or temporary roles – finding the right hirer can be a trial. Last year, over 1.2m students registered with their local job centre and expressed an interest in working. Yet only 800,000 of them were able to find jobs that fitted in with their studies.

“Add to this returning mums; people on benefits who want to supplement their earnings; recently retired people who don’t want to stop just yet and people who want to use the time they have between full-time jobs to make a bit if extra cash; you have a huge potential workforce looking to get access to temporary jobs.

“It’s really exciting to be recognised as one of the UK’s most disruptive businesses, alongside other companies that will soon be household names. Red Wigwam’s main aim is to make it easier for both workers and hirers to connect and find each other in what is often a convoluted and complex market, and we are definitely seeing the positive impact this is having on the temporary recruitment market.”
