Newcastle supply teacher agency celebrates 10th anniversary with a year of fundraising for The Children’s Foundation!
The Children’s Foundation Charity is set to benefit from the year-long fundraising efforts of Newcastle’s PK education, a supply teacher agency.
The company, which is based on Collingwood Street, is celebrating its tenth year in business throughout 2015. To mark the anniversary, staff are aiming to raise as much money as possible for the charity and get fit in the process!
The 29 strong team, which is based across seven offices, will be putting themselves through their paces throughout 2015, undertaking a whole host of fundraising events including The London Marathon, Tough Mudders and an ambitious million metre row by Finance Director Neil Gallagher.
Neil said: “Doing the rowing challenge is not only a great way to get fit, something I have put off for too long, but also an excellent way to give something back and raise money. The charity challenge has really given us a focus and become a real inter office competition as to who can raise the most money. I’m looking forward to handing over a cheque at the end of our anniversary year as well as completing my personal million metre challenge.”
As well as the million metre row, fellow director Paul Gallagher, will be running the London Marathon.
The Children’s Foundation, based in Newcastle, is one of five local charities nominated by PK education’s regional offices. As well as local charities, the company is fundraising for The British Heart Foundation and has already has raised just over £700 following the Charity’s ‘Wear it. Beat it.’ event last month.
The Children’s Foundation is the leading regional children’s healthcare charity covering the North East and Cumbria, which aim to make the health of children and young people in the region the best in the country. Their current focus is on the relief of distress, disability and disadvantage.
Libby Nolan, Fundraising Manager of The Children’s Foundation, said: “We are thrilled to find out that PK education will be supporting us this year. Working with companies who are willing to take time to fundraise for local charities is always good fun. Seeing people challenge themselves, sometimes to beyond their limits, in aid of charity is always so moving. The money raised will go towards helping us improve the health and well-being of children across the North East.”
