Pearson creates an environment for 4D creative growth

Media City-based immersive environments specialist, 4D creative, joined dementia experts from around the world in Belfast recently as part of the Ideas Lab programme.

The Ideas Lab aims to improve the way that the health and care sectors identify, capture and share practical suggestions to improve the lives of people with dementia.

Managing director of 4D creative, Colette Gollcher, was invited to attend to explain to delegates how the company’s innovative technology can contribute to tailored dementia care environments, following successful schemes for Mersey Care Trust, Lime Hub and Sedgemoor Support Centre, the UK’s first dedicated dementia facility.

Colette explained: “Being invited to speak at the conference was a major coup for us and demonstrates our truly cutting edge approach to creating innovative, bespoke environments by using the latest audio visual technologies.”

“We create flexible interiors for personalised care and this type of event helps us to educate the health and care sectors about what can be achieved and the value it offers to patients and practitioners.”

The accolade comes only months after Colette acquired the company, following the previous owners’ decision to sell the business.

“I had been involved with 4D creative on a consultancy basis,” Colette continued, “and knew that there was strong demand for what we do across the health, education and corporate sectors so I took the decision to acquire the business and take it forward.”

She achieved her goal with the help of Oldham-based law firm, Pearson Solicitors, following a referral from a friend.

“Acquiring the company was what some people might call an impulse buy!” Colette added. “But Pearson helped me every step of the way to ensure a successful outcome.”

“They really took time out to understand the company, its potential and the reason I wanted to buy it. Then they advised me on the various acquisition options available, enabling me to make an informed choice.”

Following a fact finding meeting at 4D creative, Pearson’s head of corporate, Steve Hartley outlined the pros and cons of the acquisition and advised Colette through the process.

Six months later, Steve continues to advise the company, which has gone from strength to strength.

Colette said: “Steve and the team at Pearson have been so proactive. They have signposted me to fundraising and investment opportunities and continue to be an excellent sounding board.

“Buying the business was definitely the right decision, we have a number of current projects and we were recently shortlisted for a Bett education award. The Ideas Lab event was the latest in a number of exciting opportunities and we are looking forward to continued growth throughout the year.”
