Taylor&Emmet daredevil dives into charity challenge

A member of the team at Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP is taking fundraising for its annual charity to new heights, after completing a sponsored skydive.

Intrepid HR and training assistant, Victoria Jackson, leaped from a plane in the skies above Lincolnshire to raise £735 for local animal shelter, Rain Rescue.

This takes Taylor&Emmet’s fundraising total this year to £1,500 so far, which includes £453 donated by friends and supporters of the firm’s five half marathon runners, who completed the 13 mile course in an average time of two hours five minutes. Other events have included an animal themed dress down day and bake sale.

Victoria’s skydive took place at Hibaldstow Airfield, near Brigg in north Lincolnshire. She said: “I love thrill rides and since turning 30 I have been trying to push myself to do new, challenging things. As a keen dog lover I wanted to raise as much money as possible for Rain Rescue, which does so much to prevent animal cruelty and I’m really pleased with the result. I’d like to thank all the friends and colleagues who supported me so generously.”

Rain Rescue works across Yorkshire, saving the lives of around 300 animals each year. It is one of the few shelters to take dogs from council pounds and cats from the streets, whilst promoting responsible pet ownership through education and public awareness. The organisation receives no government or Lottery grants and is funded solely by donations and its two shops in Sheffield and Rotherham.
