Independent Coffee Chain Announces Further Expansion
Ireland’s fastest growing independent coffee chain Ground Espresso Bars has today announced it is to open three new stores with NEXT plc including Lisnagelvin Retail Park, Londonderry, Enniskillen and Bangor Bloomfield. Upwards of £500K is being invested in these three new stores and they will create up to 40 new jobs further bolstering Ground’s reputation as Ireland’s leading group of independent coffee bars.
Ground’s committed to their Northern Ireland expansion is evident with a significant investment the state of the art 2,000sqft Lisnagelvin based coffee shop which is due to open on the 25th May, and promises to offer a welcoming atmosphere for lovers of Ground’s famed bespoke coffees and hand-made treats as well as providing free Wi-Fi and an inviting kids’ play area packed with the latest must-have toys, alongside an area to park prams for the little ones.
These latest ventures for the thriving business, demonstrate how the brand is growing from strength to strength by providing locally sourced quality food, high-quality coffee and exceptional customer service.
Karen Gardiner, owner, said: “Having opened our first store almost 14 years ago, we are delighted to be in a position to continue growing our network and Ground offering throughout Northern Ireland. We are also delighted to be expanding our partnership with Next Plc and these new concessions will see Ground feature in six of Next’s department stores before the end of 2015 with exciting plans in the pipeline to partner with Next on a considerable number of new sites as well.”

Ground Espresso Bars was established in 2001 in Coleraine. Employing over 160 staff across 13 stand-alone stores and concessions in Ireland, Ground Espresso Bars’ mission is “to provide a haven for customers where comfort, friendship, happiness, quality and ethics become synonymous with their name”.
