£280,000 boost to economy following housing development launch

Following the launch of a luxury new housing development in Ampleforth, local house builder David Wilson Homes has announced it is donating over £280,000 to the community. The five star development, Abbey Park, has also created over 30 jobs for local people and helped to bridge the housing shortage in the area.

The significant £280,000 donation is being used to install a new £5,000 bus shelter for the village, in addition to other improvements within the local community. On completion the development, based on Station Road, will feature 30 three, four and five bedroom homes, and include four house types. The development is already proving popular, with an eclectic mix of local buyers interested in the development.

Sales Manager for David Wilson Homes, Debbie Foster, commented: “We’ve found the Abbey Park development extremely popular; there is a real need for housing in the area for local people, so it’s fantastic that we can ease the shortage, whilst also investing in the community to improve it and ensure its sustainability for local residents.”

Debbie continued: “Our homes are ideal for those stepping on and up the property ladder and have been designed with modern living in mind. The properties are also full of character and are sympathetic to the beautiful architecture already in place within the village. We are confident that with the investments made and the real need for quality homes in the area, that our Abbey Park development will be a success from start to finish, for both local buyers and the community.”

The Abbey Park development boasts excellent commuter links to York and Leeds, with plenty of local amenities on the doorstep. Homes are available to purchase from £269,995 to £539,995, with offers such as Help To Buy available for hopeful homeowners.
