Double boost for fast rising law firm

A specialist litigation law firm has received a double boost after significantly expanding its presence and being shortlisted for one of the legal industry’s most prestigious national awards.

Dispute resolution specialist TT Law is in the running for the Boutique Firm of the Year – National title at the respected Lawyer Awards 2015, just two years on from its inception.

The award recognises excellence, depth and breadth of expertise, consistent delivery of client service, commercial strength and legal and/or entrepreneurial innovation.

The firm has also just completed a major expansion by moving from its former home in Gosforth into significantly larger premises at Cobalt Business Park, North Tyneside.

The move, to the Cobalt 3.1 building, will enable the business to create new jobs and meet growing demand for its services. TT Law was formed by ex-Muckle lawyer Neville Takiar in 2013 and has quickly built up a national client base that includes hotel and leisure groups, care homes, digital agencies and healthcare firms.

In 2014 TT Law welcomed one of the region’s leading commercial litigators, Kevin Turnbull, to its team as a partner. Turnbull, a former colleague of Takiar at Muckle, acted on the Bloody Sunday and Harold Shipman inquiries and is cited in Chambers Guides as being ‘widely regarded as exceptional’.

TT Law has tapped into increasing demand for a specialist dispute-focussed firm and has expertise in a number of key areas including commercial contract disputes, professional negligence claims and shareholder disputes. Other specialist services include insolvency related litigation, partnership disputes and arbitrations.

Reflecting on the firm’s expansion and its recent award nomination, Takiar said: “We’ve started working with a number of new clients over the last six months, principally recommendations from existing clients and referrals from other law firms. Our new offices allow us to accommodate that growth.

“We’re also extremely proud to be recognised as one of the leading specialist litigation law firms in the country. These are very exciting times for our firm and it all stems from one thing; our genuine commitment in all that we do, to achieving excellent outcomes for our clients. It sounds like a cliché, but that really is what we focus on.”

Meanwhile, TT Law is also a finalist in two categories at this year’s Northern Law Awards, having been shortlisted for Team of the Year – Litigation and Dispute Resolution. Takiar is also nominated as Rising Star; the award for the year’s highest achieving lawyer under the age of 35.

The winners of these and the Lawyer Awards 2015 will be announced in June at ceremonies at the Biscuit Factory in Newcastle and the Grosvenor House Hotel in London respectively. For more information on TT Law visit www.ttlaw.co.uk.
