Barratt builds on expertise in the south west

Leading housebuilder Barratt Homes is reinforcing its credentials in the south west with a number of key appointments.

A new sales director, commercial director and construction director have joined the Exeter-based team as it looks to build on firm foundations for the future.

Sara Parker joins as sales director with Ian Jeffery the new commercial director and Tim Davies construction director.

Managing director Paul Moran said the appointments come at a key time for the division which has seen a doubling in the number of developments in recent years and a rise from building around 300 homes in 2011 to a predicted 500 in the next 12 months.

“It is important to have the right people in place to drive forward growth but ensure that we also maintain the highest levels of quality and the arrival of Sara, Ian and Tim put us in that position,’’ he said.

Sara Parker has joined the company as sales director overseeing activity on developments throughout Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.

Sara, who has lived in the south west for more than 12 years, said she is looking forward to being part of the growth plans for Barratt Homes.

She has worked in the new homes industry for more than 20 years and said she loves being able be involved in the sale of homes in some of the most stunning locations in the country.

“We have a great team here and we are working in some fantastic locations,’’ she said.

Commercial director Ian Jeffery is no stranger to Barratt Homes having first worked with the company seven years ago. He has since worked as a consultant in the construction industry but said he was delighted to be back at Barratt full time.

“I’ve been working in construction for more than 25 years and it’s an industry I love,’’ said Ian. “The south west is a hugely popular area for people to live and work and my focus is on ensuring we have the best staff to take us forward.’’

Completing the trio of new appointments is construction director Tim Davies who has more than 20 years experience in the housing industry.

His award-winning commitment to quality will be vital as Barratt Homes expands in the south west and Tim said he was looking forward to the new challenge.

“This is an exciting times for the division as it looks to both consolidate its position in the south west and then enjoy a period of sustainable growth,’’ said Tim.
