Lupton Fawcett Denison Till names its charities

Lupton Fawcett Denison Till, the Leeds, Sheffield and York-based commercial law firm is delighted to have raised a whopping £47,507.24 for its 2014-2015 charities of the year; namely St Wilfrid’s in Sheffield, St Leonard’s in York and Macmillan Support in Leeds.

Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, Angela Gorton, Director, comments: “We were absolutely delighted to be able to support the fantastic work that these three charities provide. We are proud to be able to highlight their causes and the plight of those less fortunate. We often take for granted our health and our material possessions and it is only when we are forced to view the world through their eyes do we sit up and take notice.

We are also pleased to announce the three charities that we will support in 2015-2016, namely Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, The Alzheimer’s Society and The Outlook Trust. We really hope to make a difference to them“.

Each of the offices at Lupton Fawcett Denison Till is responsible for selecting their ‘charity of the year’ and voted for by its staff.

Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield is one of only four dedicated cancer hospitals in England. Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity supports the hospital by funding pioneering cancer research and helping to improve cancer treatments and care for patients from Sheffield, all of South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and North Derbyshire. Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity was chosen by the firm’s Sheffield office.

The Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia support and research charity, for anyone affected by any form of dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Alzheimer’s Society was chosen by the firm’s Leeds office.

The Outlook Trust is the only charity for blind and visually impaired children that organises and provides activity and residential breaks for blind, partially sighted children and young people with other disabilities. The Outlook Trust was chosen by the firm’s York office.

Lupton Fawcett Denison Till’s aim is to play a positive role in helping these charities deal with organisation challenges not just raising funds but also providing time and expertise through volunteering and in-kind support and help create solutions to the charities’ needs.
