The HR Dept reaches a milestone!

The HR Dept South Tyneside, Newcastle, Gateshead has just celebrated its first successful year in business, providing practical employment law advice and support to small and medium sized businesses.

Since starting the business under The HR Dept national brand, Jayne Hart has built up a varied client base to help business owners prevent people problems and focus on the day to day running of the business.

Twelve months in, the ambitious mum-of-two from South Shields has seen the new venture go from ‘strength to strength’ with over 30 local businesses calling on her experience and knowledge to guide them through tricky employee-related matters such as grievances, staff contracts and recruitment.

Jayne comments: “I am thrilled to have achieved so much in such a short space of time. I won’t lie, being made redundant and starting a new business has been a challenge but I have loved every minute. It’s great working with such a diverse group of clients, supporting them to find practical and pragmatic HR solutions to help their businesses grow.

I love the fact that we become part of that company’s team, in fact we become their own HR Dept, but at the fraction of the cost of recruiting a full time HR Manager“.

The HR Dept helps local businesses access the levels of expertise and practical support usually reserved for large organisations with in house HR professionals. Local HR professionals are on call to provide a full range of local support including an advice line to deal with day to day personnel queries and tailored one to one advice on issues ranging from employment contracts and handbooks, HR policies and procedures, employment law advice to disciplinary and grievance issues.

“Small firms don’t tend to have their own HR people but still have many pressures to deal with. They recognise they need support in dealing with their workforce – so using the services I can provide is something that is appealing to them. There is never a dull moment when you are managing people!”

Jayne Hart and her team work with a wide range of clients from Christmas Tree Decorators to Manufacturing companies from 1 employees to 60 employees, local limited companies to national PLC’s, providing a local and personal service that works with and understands local employers and their organisations.
