Promotions at Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors

Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors has promoted five of its lawyers to Associate Solicitor, recognising and rewarding their commitment to their clients and the company.

The promotions are in the company’s Wills and Probate, and Corporate Law departments. Employment lawyer Theresa Carling and Commercial Property specialist Sara Garnett from the firm’s Wynyard-based Business Law team have both been promoted, and promotions in the Wills and Probate department have been given to Annaliese Barber and Andrew Steel who are both based in Hartlepool, and Nicola Dalzell who works in both the Stockton and Barnard Castle offices.

Carolyn Tilly, partner with Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors, and head of the company’s Wills and Probate team, said: “We believe in being a forward thinking law firm. Whilst delivering for our clients is always front of mind, we also value our staff and take the opportunity to say ‘well done’ when an individual is performing well. As the partner heading the Wills and Probate department, I’m proud of the commitment of the staff members who have been promoted, and delighted that their commitment and effort has been recognised in this way.”

Theresa Carling, a member of the Employment Lawyers Association, has worked with Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors for three years. Her work includes defending complex employment tribunal litigation, particularly discrimination, advising on and negotiating director level settlements, and dealing with the transfer of staff contracts in business sales and Academy conversions, primarily working for organisations in the North East. She commented: “This promotion is a welcome reward for bringing in new Employment clients, and for the fantastic results on a number of cases and outcomes which I have achieved. I am delighted that my hard work has been recognised by Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors.”

Annaliese Barber qualified as a solicitor in 2002, and as a Notary Public in 2007. She commented: “Being promoted is recognition of my commitment and achievements. Alongside Andrew Steel and Nicola Dalzell, we’re proud to be part of a department that is proactively growing.

“It’s not only colleagues who have commented on the promotion, but clients also. It puts me in a stronger position to promote the company, and the full range of legal services we provide, to both established clients and new ones.”

Nicola Dalzell works in both the Stockton and Barnard Castle offices, specialising in wills, estate planning, trusts, powers of attorney and mental capacity. She added: “Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors is a large law firm, spread over four sites in the Tees Valley and Durham. With a large workforce, it may be it possible to lose sight of an individual’s performance, but that’s far from reality here. The company’s treatment of its staff has earned it an exceptional reputation in the legal field, proving it is the company that lawyers want to work for.”

Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors is the Tees Valley’s largest full service law firm with offices in Hartlepool, Wynyard Park, Stockton on Tees and Barnard Castle.
