Free Seminar on Employment Law and Workplace Pensions

Employers and Human Resources professionals are invited to a seminar designed to bring them up to date on developments in employment law and pensions.

Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors and ARC Wealth Limited are hosting the breakfast seminar on Thursday 16th July, 2015, at Tilly Bailey & Irvine’s offices at 12 Evolution, Wynyard Park, TS22 5TB. Registration is from 8.30am with presentations running for approximately 90 minutes from 9am. The seminar is free to attend, however places are limited and anyone interested in reserving a place should email dnicholson@tbilaw.co.uk . A light breakfast will be provided.

Neal Grainger, Corporate Finance Adviser with ARC Wealth Limited, will give useful and practical tips on Auto Enrolment, and Freedom and Choice, in relation to the new workplace pension requirements. Neal has over 32 years’ experience within financial services, providing holistic corporate financial advice to companies, including advice on Auto Enrolment, company pension schemes, employee benefits and more. He said: “The new pensions legislation brings more freedoms than we’ve ever had before, but this also brings with it possible pitfalls. It’s important to understand how this affects your business, particularly with the addition of Auto Enrolment. If you have any questions on how this can impact on your business, or pensions queries about the new legislation and about what you can and can’t do, it would be worthwhile attending. It is always best to approach properly regulated financial advisers, qualified in this area and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.”

Theresa Carling, Associate Solicitor specialising in Employment Law with Tilly Bailey & Irvine Solicitors, will update attendees on recent employment law developments, including family-friendly legislation and the ‘Fit for Work’ regime. She commented: “Whether a company employs a handful of people or hundreds, it is important that management is up to date with developments in employment law. We’ll be discussing requirements in relation to Shared Parental Leave and the Fit for Work scheme. We’ll also talk about the problems misuse of social media can cause in the workplace and explain how to ensure employees know what they can and cannot post online. There will, of course, be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and to network too.”
