LSH seeks occupier for old Greater Manchester chain plant
Real estate consultancy firm Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) is seeking a new occupier for a former manufacturing plant in Bredbury, near Stockport.
The Ashton Road site once served as a manufacturing centre for industrial chain maker Renold plc. The 163,000 sq ft facility comprises more than 20,000 sq ft of office space on a 10-acre plot.
The former plant is currently being refurbished, with the internal floors and walls being improved and the roof undergoing renovation work.
LSH’s John Sullivan, the head of industrial and logistics at the firm’s Manchester office, said: “This is [a] good quality building in an area where there is very little supply of industrial accommodation of this size and would appeal to an occupier who is looking for something other than a standard box.
“For many years it was a manufacturing base for Renold so is very much suited for another manufacturer. However, its proximity to Bredbury Industrial Estate and j26 of the M60 means it would also suit a logistics use subject to a successful change of use application.”
Renold plc estimated that the closure of the Bredbury plant, in the year ending March 31 2015, delivered an annual saving of £3.8m for the company.
LSH was the firm responsible for the sale of the BBC’s Television Centre property, which was bought by office space firm Stanhope for £200m back in 2012.
