Weightmans solicitors helps Lucideon Group during key acquisition
The corporate team at Manchester-based law firm Weightmans has advised materials technology company Lucideon Group during its acquisition of management and employee-owned firm Beechfields (Stoke) Limited.
Lucideon Group, which is headquartered in Stoke-on-Trent but has operations in China and the US, intends to raise equity capital to drive its growth plans and make a number of key acquisitions.
Commenting on the involvement of the Weightmans team, which was led by Robert Turnbull and company associate Danielle Best, Lucideon’s CEO, Tony Kinsella, said: “This was a unique and complex transaction, and one which will now allow us to take on the equity finance necessary to fund our ambitions. The Weightmans team have been superb in helping devise, develop and steer us through this process.
“The methodology selected by Robert Turnbull has given us the deal certainty we needed.”
Tony added: “The tensions as we went through the process were significant at times, but the team in Manchester kept us grounded and focussed, with a quiet but persistent manner. Plenty of smiles and encouragement all round.”
Weightmans’ Robert Turnbull said the company was “delighted to advise Lucideon during the transaction, adding: “We hope to continue working together in the future.”
